You may have purchased things online and used various freight forwarding services like Courier Jamaica, ShipInVille, MailPac, SSMC and other such services.
Recently I had a rather poor interaction with Amazon over a missing package. The freight forwarder that I use sent me photos showing that the item came in an envelope but the envelope was empty.
I had some issues previously and the seller would resolve them quickly, but this time I had no means of contacting the seller. I went through Amazon support and this was my response.
We recently reviewed your account and order activity details. Your order history shows that you have claimed refunds for items that you reported delivery issues with. Recently, you reported issues with your order 123-1234567-1234567.
CARRIER confirmed the ITEM in your ORDER was in the box at the time it left our fulfillment center and that the box was delivered to the freight forwarder intact. As a result, we cannot issue a replacement or a refund for this item.

Now - I’ve been in touch with them since to elaborate that the item was not in a box.
As you can see - the package is not a box and is quite empty. I Reiterated this repeatedly. No luck.
This suggests to me that they’re clamping down on freight forwarders and probably trying to push their own shipping fulfillment to Jamaica.
As another note - I want to point something out about the item I purchased and what you should look for.
If you follow that link, you’ll find it takes you to a car part from a Chinese store called AZGIANT.
Note that the one I bought was sold by “Realmbeast” and not AZGIANT. In cases like this it’s best to buy directly from the supplier. If you have doubts, cancel the order if you see it sold by a third party and purchase directly from the supplier off eBay.
I won’t get into a lot of details about the purchase, but we should all be aware that local suppliers - vehicle or otherwise - are mostly criminal with the pricing. While part of it is due to the commercial customs fees, the pricing really doesn’t have to be as high as they make it.
Anyways - look out for stuff like this and be aware of your online purchases. Just give it a second look - slow down - and ensure your stuff is done safely.
