I’ve heard about issues like this from around March of 2025. Multiple persons with personal Outlook accounts in Jamaica cannot access their email. Once sign-in is completed or attempted in some cases, this error comes up.
The link takes you to a page about going passwordless, but that also didn’t work for persons with passkeys or 2FA enabled. It seemed to be a more localized issue with Jamaican IP addresses.
Due to the nature of things with some small business owners, I had gotten in touch with Microsoft support about it. Their reply?
Some rather generic responses. What was surprising is another person advised me of the same problem again yesterday - 2025-08-12. This means the problem is not fully resolved, and persons may come upon cases where they can’t access their emails once more.
The only way to fix this - temporarily - is to use a VPN to access your emails. Unless you have your own VPN server or had subscribed to one - may be included with Norton or other antivirus packages - then you will have to purchase one or find a free alternative.
The link above is a free VPN extension for Google Chrome. Bear in mind that most companies have gone subscription based and any free tool may stop working due to various reasons - from policy changes to free server load.
Thus far it seems to be related to certain ISP IPs in Jamaica. Starlink users are not affected as far as I’m aware. If you’ve seen this issue in any other country - or on a specific ISP - please advise. I can’t recall if I’ve seen this happen to persons on Digicel either…just a thought.
